There's an interesting story behind this box set... And my telling of this story will be vital in the review of this soundtrack... I'd like to think that, anyway. My little sister is a HUGE Sailor Moon fan, but all she had been exposed to was the DiC dubs, which really upsetted me. I started buying her some of the manga, the R Movie on DVD, etc. In November of 1999, I ordered the Sailor Moon Memorial Music Box for $175 at Anime Nation. I was very suspicious of the fact that the American Sailor Moon played the same 2 or 3 songs throughout the entire series. I wanted more, and I found it. After 5 months of waiting, this CD set was reprinted and I now own it.

The question now is what's on it? To make it short, every single second of music that plays on the 200 episodes of Sailor Moon and the 3 movies can be found on these 10 discs. From there, there are also bonus tracks. However, most vocal songs from the OSTs are not found on these discs. I checked track lists between the R OST and the discs of this set and couldn't find a match. Because of this, not ALL the Sailor Moon music is on here. But, ALL BGM and a couple vocal tracks are on here. The collection is complete, and the music is good. There are dramatic piano solos, hard-rock fighting themes, happy-go-lucky fun tracks, and just about anything else you can think of. If you're a Sailor Moon fan, this is the ultimate music collection to purchase!! As said before, you can pick it up at Anime Nation now that it has been reprinted.

The packaging is really neat too. A big box holding 10 single-case CDs, each with their own manga-style cover of various characters. Each disc is a neat picture-disc, usually involving all the Sailor Senshi in various costumes, in their manga form. Then there's a 200-page book, with some artwork, a whole bunch of catalog information, and liner notes from the composer. Overall, this package is amazing. Probably the coolest thing I (I mean, my little sister) own. Hehe. :)

Since there are 50 tracks sampled here, I'd like to point out my two favorite samples. Disc 4 track 10 and disc 10 track 20 are probably my favorite, though there are plenty of good tracks in here. Keep in mind, though, the collection is 11+ hours long, so it's hard to skim through to find the "best" tracks when there are so many.
