Urban Vision has certainly been late getting into the game when it comes to DVD, but after getting off to an impressive start with their recent release of the Vampire Hunter D Special Edition DVD, they've now announced their third plunge into digital waters. Another Special Edition DVD, Bio Hunter, is scheduled for release January 30th, 2001, and looks like it'll pack a fair number of extras. From the standard company trailers and dual languages options to the more exciting digitally remastered 5.1 audio track and storyboard images, this disc looks like it's shaping up to be a well rounded release indeed.

The action packed story of Bio Hunter presents a an alternate modern day setting filled with horrific adventure. Yoshiaki Kawajiri, known for Ninja Scroll and Wicked City, paints a vivid scene where a fiendish virus is transforming Tokyo citizens into demonic monstrosities that terrorize the city they once called home. The only hope of stopping one particularly fiendish monster are the Bio Hunters with their secret weapon, Komada, a man also infected with the virus but able to control and use it against other mutations. Can't wait till January for that sweet digital UV lovin'? Another DVD release from Urban Vision has also recently made its way out the door. Released yesterday, November 7th, Wicked City marked their second venture into the digital dimension. As is the case with their other two DVD releases, Wicked City received the full Special Edition treatment, some of the more interesting extras including an exclusive interview with director Yoshiaki Kawajiri, who also directed Ninja Scroll and Goku: Midnight Eye, character biographies, original theatrical trailers, and a remastered 5.1 DD audio track. The full reminder on the release of Wicked City can be read here.

To coincide with the release of the Wicked City DVD, Urban Vision also launched the official website for the movie. We've mirrored their screen shot gallery, the first of two galleries accessible here, while the other content must be viewed directly via their site. A trailer for Wicked City can be seen, and for those already having picked up their DVDs, a bonus portion of the site is accessible with a password found only on the Wicked City DVD.
