Central Park Media will be releasing the Shamanic Princess Complete DVD on February 13, 2001, for $29.99. The disc features English and Japanese language tracks. The entire series is 180 minutes long and on a single DVD. The disc also features an art gallery with a good deal of the stunning work form the artists the likes of Ishida Atsuko. Character descriptions for all of your favorites from Shamanic Princess are included as well. The disc will also feature production and cast credits, scripts, and reviews.

If you've never heard of Shamanic Princess, then you have definitely missed out on an excellent series. The art, story and sound are all superb. The exquisite character designs by Ishida Atsuko are as good as, if not better than, the ones she did for Magic Knight Rayearth. The beautiful scenery brings to mind Monoke Hime's gorgeous artwork. The story follows a young girl who arrives on Earth alone, except for her partner Japolo. Her name is Tiara, and she is here on a mission to find her former lover, Kagetsu, who has stolen the mysterious Throne of Yold, which is the powerful source to the Guardian World. When she catches up with him, surprisingly she finds out that he is not alone. Tiara's former acquantaince, Lena, has sided with Kagetsu along with Lena's partner, Leon. The story is fast paced and little is actually explained until end of the series.

One of the better parts of the show is the voice acting. An all-star cast of seiyuu lend their talents to the series. They include Sa Yuri (Suzuka, Outlaw Star) as the headstrong Tyallea, Yamadera Kouichi (Cowboy Bebop's Spike Spiegel) as the desperate Kagetsu, Matsumoto Rika (Hazumi, Bakuen Campus Guardress) in two distinct roles, and Sakurai Tomo (Macross 7's Mylene Jenius) as Tyallea's delicate and forlorn childhood friend, Sarah.

The opening and ending songs are on par with such series as Record of Lodoss War and Neon Genesis Evangelion, not to mention the unique sound of the entire series. The delicate way the music is intertwined with the action and emotion of the series is another incredible feat for Shamanic Princess.

For the paltry sum of $29.99 you can own the entire 6 episode series, which is not a bad price at all. Still wondering just how good the artwork could be though? Why don't you head on over the new Shamanic Princess screen shot galleries? You can take a gander and get a feel for yourself of what the series looks like! Nothing was said on its "sister" series, Mahou Tsukai Tai! (I Want to Be a Magic User!). I would say chances are good of seeing this released, since Shamanic Princess is already on it's way! So gear up and get down, Tiara is coming to town!
