Viz Media announced its acquisition of the Death Note anime series. Subtitled episodes will be offered for download shortly after their Japan debut, making Death Note the first anime series to be offered for commercial download while the series is still running in Japan. A DVD release is currently planned, and will be offered at an unspecified later date.

Geneon snatched up the rights to Rozen Maiden. The first volume's release date is currently slated for a spring 2007 release. It is currently unknown as to how many of Rozen Maiden's three seasons are licensed by Geneon.

ADV Films revealed its acquisition of the Moeyo Ken television series. Currently, no release date is known.

ICv2 reports that FUNimation snagged the rights to Suzuka. Currently, no release details are known.

DramaQueen snagged the rights to Devil x Devil. No release date has been announced.

According to ICv2, Manga Entertainment will release the Madhouse adaptation of Highlander on western shores. The film is slated for a June release, in both regular and special editions.

Manga artist Sirou Tunasima announced that he will be discontinuing work on Jinki: Extend. According to Tunasima, the decision stems from irreconcilable differences between Tunasima and his editor. Tunasima has written 60 pages to best finish the story, given the circumstances.
