Deathly Notes of Saiunkoku's Pretty Yet Melancholy Cure

Viz Media announced that subtitled episodes Death Note will be sold online via IGN's Direct2Drive Service. The first episode is scheduled to be released on May 10. No details on pricing have been announced. Currently, Direct2Drive only offers video in DRM-encoded Windows Media format.

Geneon snagged the rights to Saiunkoku Monogatari. The series will be released under the title Story of Saiunkoku, with the first volume scheduled for a July 24 release.

Toei's North American website has recently been updated with information on Pretty Cure (Futari wa Pretty Cure, PreCure). Anime News Service reporta that Toei is currently planning separate spaced releases for Pretty Cure and Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanohana.

Bandai Entertainment announced a special event to commemorate the launch of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu) at Anime Jungle on May 29 at 7PM PST. At the event, copies of the special and regular edition DVD, as well as the first CD will be available for purchase. Members of the "ASOS Brigade," the live-action actors seen in Bandai's Haruhi material, will attend the event. All attendees will receive a free Haruhi promotional poster.
