Parn is going on a trip and he's bringing some friends along with him. Where are they headed, you ask? The good ole USA (come on and chant it with me... USA... USA) on the Dreamcast express. The US may not be able to pick a president, but we sure can pick what anime we want made into games. As such, Record Of Lodoss War: Advent Of Cardice for the Dreamcast is on the way under the clever title of Record Of Lodoss War.

The game is the same one that was released in Japan back in July. It is based on the original Record of Lodoss War OVA series, not the new TV series. The game plays much like the Diablo PC games, and looks awfully good. The beautiful scenery coupled with the detailed characters really bring this game to life. If you're a fan, it is a nice little jaunt back through the isle of Lodoss. If you're not a fan, what better time is there than now to start watching the anime?

The orginal OVA was developed by Kodokawa Shoten (who also published the game in Japan) and released in the US by US Manga Corps. The series has gained a lot of popularity and spawned two games for the SNES: a board / card game and an RPG. Neither of those made it overseas from Japan though.

That has all changed, however, thanks to Conspiracy Entertainment. They have decided that US fans of Dee... err... Lodoss War (of course nobody watches the series just for deedlit... silly me) can not be deprived of this excellent title. As such, on January 2nd, 2001, you can pick up your copy of this lovely little gem for Dreamcast.

Now of course, I wouldn't let you know this without giving you something to satiate your desire until its release, so here is some of the box art from the US version of this dandy little game.

I know I can't wait for this game to hit US shores. Be sure to pre-order and purchase! Hey, maybe if it does well, we can get that Love Hina game too! So buy one, or better yet, buy two! Get yourself one, get your mother one, and get your cat one too! The more you buy... well, the more you have! It's always good to have another copy just in case (and I want that Love Hina game dangnammit!).
