Have you ever been sitting in class thinking "Man, if this class was on anime, I would so ace it!". Now what if you could take a class on anime?

Well, you can. Bellevue Community College will be offering up an academic course on anime. The course will fulfill a composition-course requirement which is just darned cool!

Courses in anime seem to be gaining popularity along with anime itself in the US. The University of Michigan has fairly recently began offering a course in anime history. Many film professors say a number of colleges will begin offering up anime courses in the future.

Anime has hold in the US and is starting to get respect as a viable medium for artistic expression. No longer must the Otaku hear "Anime? Those kiddy cartoons?" and what a relief that is!
