You may have heard about it before: Leiji Matsumoto (manga artist of Galaxy Express 999, Captain Harlock and Queen Emeraldas fame) has directed a music video for the French band Daft Punk. It is not the first time Japanese animation has been used for a non-Japanese music video (remember Wamdue Project's "King of My Castle" video, with Ghost in the Shell clips?), but it has to be one of the first times a full animation is made especially for a European band. Have the Daft Punk members been Harlock fans during their youth, like most people in their generation?

The music video for the song "One More Time" started airing a month ago on music channels... But the good news is, there won't be just one music video: a whole mini-series of Leiji Matsumoto music videos is planned! The videos will be continuations of each other and while the exact final number of videos is still unclear, the series will supposedly have a grand finale. Maybe a Harlock guest appearance, who knows?

Before the third clip hits TV channels, you can take a look at the first two music videos, "One More Time" and the recently released "Aerodynamic." Thanks to TheRaft.com for the files.
