As reported earlier out of E3, Tokyopop is set to expand their Tokyopop Soundtrax label to include anime come August 23rd with the release of three soundtracks: Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Vampire Princess Miyu, and Trigun. We've now learned some addition information on the release of these albums, some of which should please all the Trigun fans out there.

Martin Do, Product Specialist at Tokyopop, has passed along some information about the three upcoming anime soundtracks. First of all, the Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 and Vampire Princess Miyu albums will be "as is" reproductions of their Japanese counterparts. While I haven't heard the Miyu OST myself - Tokyopop will be releasing the TV series itself as well, however - I can tell you this is good news as far as the BGC Tokyo 2040 OST is concerned, as the electronic rock of that album is a real treat. The track info for these two soundtracks will be as follows:

In much more interesting news, however, the Trigun OST will be an all new compilation album. This US exclusive soundtrack will feature a selection of tracks spanning the best of both import albums, The First Donuts and The Second Donuts. The new Trigun CD will also feature completely redesigned packaging (cover, booklet, etc.) with previously unpublished Yasuhiro Nightow art. Nightow's staff is designing the art for the CD itself as well. This should come as a welcome surprise to Trigun fans who already own the import albums, as the all new art and alternate ordering of compiled tracks should offer something new for everyone. The track list for the Trigun OST is as follows:

August 23rd is still a long way off though, but those attending either Anime Expo in Long Beach, CA July 5th through 7th or Comic-con in San Diego, CA July 19th through 22th will have an opportunity to pick up the three soundtracks early. Tokyopop will be selling the albums at both conventions, giving fans a chance to be the first to grab their own copies of each.
