Bandai Entertainment announced its acquisition of Kotaro Mori's Gurren Lagann manga. No specific release date has been announced, but Bandai expects to ship the first volume in 2009.

Mori's manga is an adaptation of the hit Gainax show, which is currently available on DVD. Bandai has shown interest in the title at past conventions, but were quick to note that other companies desired the title as well.
