Moon Phase reports that Production I.G is developing an animated adaptation of Capcom’s feudal Japan hack-and-slash game series Sengoku Basara.

The adaptation will be directed by Toshiaki Kawasaki (L/R). Toru Ookubo, who served as animation director for several episodes of Production I.G’s Blood+, will serve as the title's character designer and animation director. The story will be written by Yasuyuki Muto(Basilisk).

Sengoku Basara was originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2005. The title was released in America under the title Devil Kings
