Sojitz Corporation announced plans to dissolve ARM. the licensing management firm they established in 2006. ARM was established as a subsidiary of Japan Content Investments, Development Bank of Japan, and film distributor KlockWorx, Initially, ARM was formed about to manage anime licensing between the companies in North America.

ARM's dissolution is a result of North American licensing revenue growth expectations failing to live up to those anticipated at ARM's establishment. The corporation is planned to cease operations, and have its management resources redistributed by February 2009.

In response to the dissolution, FUNimation has confirmed that being effectively "dis-ARMed" will not have any impact on the domestic distribution of titles they licensed through ARM.
