Kodansha recently announced that Production IG and Transarts will produce an animated TV series based on Nahoko Uehashi’s 2006 novel series, Kemono no Soja (Beast Player>/span>).

Takayuki Hamana(Library War. Prince of Tennis) has been confirmed as the series' director. The title's screenplay will be written by Jun'ichi Fujisaku (Blood+, RD Sennou Chousashitsu). Character designs will be handled by Takayuki Goto, who worked on Hunter X Hunter and Please Save My Earth.

The Beast Player series focuses on a young woman named Erin, who has the ability to control animals(dragons included) as though she were playing a musical instrument. The story of the inter-kingdom war she's drawn into will premiere on NHK on January 10th at 6:25PM.

Nahoko Uehashi is best known for Seirei no Moribito, which received an animated adaptation in 2007. Media Blasters currently holds the rights to the Seirei no Moribito anime.
