Crunchyroll teams up with TV Tokyo & Pierrot

Crunchyroll recently announced a partnership with TV Tokyo and studio Pierrot. This partnership will bring episodes of Naruto Shippuden to international viewers starting on January 8th, 2009.

Current English-subtitled Naruto Shippuden episodes will be available to Crunchyroll paid monthly subscribers an hour after the Japanese broadcast. The episodes will become accessible for free to all viewers on Crunchyroll a week later. These episodes will also be viewable at Naruto.com, Joost, and Hulu.

TV Tokyo will initially distribute five anime TV series on Crunchyroll in this manner. However, Gintama and Naruto Shippuden being the only confirmed titles at this point.
