Studio AIC announced plans to revive some of their older properties. At the same time, AIC confirmed plans to develop both live action and new anime adaptations of the classic 1987 Bubblegum Crisis series.

Singaporean animation studio Cubix International PTE Ltd. has signed on to develop the live action movie for international release (United States included) in 2011. Series co-creators Shinji Aramaki and Kenichi Sonoda will be consulted to ensure that the adaptation is true to the original work.
