Crunchyroll announced a new distribution partnership with Pony Canyon to begin the online streaming and commercial digital distribution of their anime titles. The Steel Angel Kurumi franchise - which includes the original TV series, Steel Angel Kurumi 2, and the Steel Angel Kurumi OVA series - was announced as the first title planned for release through this partnership.

Steel Angel Kurumi was originally released in the west ADV Films.
