Animation Magazine reports that Canada's YTV network will air the first season of Pretty Cure beginning in early 2009. The series was previously licensed for American broadcast by 4Kids Entertainment in 2006, but no episodes were ever aired.

Toei made English subtitled episodes available online through IGN Direct2Drive and Crunchyroll earlier this year.

C21 Media has reports that the series protagonists - Nagisa and Honoka - will be renamed "Natalie" and "Hannah" in the YTV English dub.

You can't go confusing English-speaking kids with those crazy Japanese names, after all.
