ICv2 reports that TOKYOPOP Germany has lost the rights to titles the company licensed from Kodansha. TOKYOPOP was shocked by Kodansha's decision, stating that the loss was not due to TOKYOPOP Germany's work with Kodansha. TOKYOPOP attempted to convince Kodansha to reevaluate the decision, with little success. It is unknown as to whether another publisher will complete the titles TOKYOPOP Germany had been working on.

As a result of Kodansha's decision, several titles that TOKYOPOP Germany had been publishing, including Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, Hell Girl, and School Rumble will remain incomplete in Germany.
