Ever dreamed of attending COMIKET or Tokyo Game Show? JTEC is currently organizing trips for both...but hurry, the deadline for COMIKET is the 29th!

If you've ever dreamed of attending a Japanese anime con, you're in luck. JTEC, based out of L.A., is organizing a trip to this year's COMIKET, short for Comic Market. The con features over 22,000 clubs and organizations, and over 300,000 attendees last year. Cos-play is available, though you must register on site (a fee might apply) and be dressed.

The trip, which will be 6 day/4 nights (gotta factor air travel in there), starts out at LAX (the airport that even hell didn't want) at 8 a.m. on August 9th. You'll arrive on the 10th and go to your hotel. Saturday and Sunday will be COMIKET, and Monday you'll have free to do whatever you want. You'll return to LAX on the 14th.

The total package for this trip includes round trip airfare from LAX to Narita, Japan, a round trip chartered bus between the Tokyo airport and the hotel and back, a room for four nights at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel (you will have to share with someone else though), a bilingual tour escort for the entire trip, and two round trip transfers from the hotel to COMIKET. Once there, you must purchase a pamphlet to gain admission into COMIKET, which is around $7.00. You must apply by the 29th to ensure that you will have a space on the tour, though space may be available afterwards. A passport is required. If you have to fly into LAX, it's your responsibility to take care of your travel arrangements.

For more information, click on the COMIKET link.

If you're like me though, and have more interest in attending Tokyo Game Show than COMIKET, JTEC is also organizing a trip there. The tour will also be a 6 day/4 night deal. You'll depart from LAX on October 10th, arrive on the 11th. If you happen to be media, you can attend TGS on the 12th; otherwise, it's a free day. The 13th is open to the general public, the 14th is another free day, and then on Monday you'll return to the US. The package includes the same thing as the COMIKET trip.

If you happen to qualify as media on this trip, you must provide an ID for the publication you work for, and/or a business card or company credential (i.e. a letter from your editor), and a photo id. You must submit these with your tour package application.

The TGS tour totals $1299, for all that it includes, it's really an awesome deal. Keep in mind this doesn't cover food or anything like that. For more information on the TGS tour, click on the link at the right. (Ed. Note: There used to be a link, that is. I could've left it there, but there's no site to link to. :-)
