ICv2 reports that over 460 Best Buy stores will drastically reduce their anime stock. Beginning March 1, the 462 affected stores will discount their anime stock by 50%, to allow a rapid reduction of SKUs in inventory. The sales will run until March 21.

The affected stores will carry roughly 20 "core" anime titles, as opposed to the rest of the chain, which will still offer over 100 anime titles. The top 200 anime sellers in the chain will carry larger assortments of anime on a level similar to that which they are currently at. Best Buy hopes to retain most of its anime sales through the reduction, with hopes that stores with higher sales will see increased sales due to fewer out-of-stock SKUs.
