Viz Media is currently undergoing a corporate restructuring. Through the process, Viz hopes to streamline its focus to adjust to the changing marketplace.

The restructuring process has resulted in a number of layoffs, which were administered on Friday. Viz is the latest in a line of downsizing, with TOKYOPOP having laid off a number of employees in 2008, Broccoli closing down Broccoli International USA in December, and ADV downsizing its manga division in 2005.
