Masatsugu Shinozaki revealed that an anime adaptation of Soten Koro is in production. Madhouse will produce the late-night anime, which is scheduled to run on NTV. The series will be directed by Tsuneo Tominaga (Initial D: Fourth Stage, Trouble Chocolate), and Toyoo Ashida (Fist of the North Star, Space Battleship Yamato) will serve as the title's executive director.

Soten Koro appeared in Kodansha's Morning Magazine from 1994 to 2005. The series sold over 10 million copies, and was awarded the Kodansha Manga Prize in 1998.
