The Anican staff blog recently reported on the voice recording for the newly announced children's TV series Cookin' Idol Ai! Mai! Main! (Cookin' Idol I! My! Mine!). Like the 2008 TV series Moegaku 5, Cookin' Idol will combine live action and anime segments, each episode lasting ten minutes. In the animated segment, Main - the lead character - will teach the audience how to cook a dish. In the live action segment, Main's voice actress, Haruka Fukuhara, attempts to cook the same dish.

The series is scheduled to premiere on the NHK Educational network on March 30th. Studio NAS is producing the animation. Hiroshi Watanabe (Slayers, Orphen) is directing the series, and veteran character designer Atsuko Nakajima is serving as animation director.
