Tatsunoko and Marvel Set Sights on Joint TV Anime

Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported on Tuesday that Takara Tomy and Marvel will collaborate on toys based on Marvel characters for Japanese retail this fall. It was revealed in the report that Tatsunoko Production - a division of Takara Tomy - is producing an anime TV series involving both characters from Tatsunoko's anime portfolio and Marvel's western comics. The company set a goal of broadcasting the anime in three years in both Japan and international markets.

Details of the deals between Tatsunoko and Marvel will be made public at an unspecified point in time. Takara Tomy will initially sell around 100 types of toys and clothing based on Spider-Man, Iron Man, and other Marvel characters. It's also presently exploring the possibility of sales expansion into the rest of Asia.
