The Honolulu Star Bulletin revealed that Shinji Aramaki will attend the event as a guest of honor. Aramaki is a prolific character designer and director who previously worked on many fan favorites, including Bubblegum Crisis, Appleseed, and Wolf's Rain. Aramaki also contributed to the designs of Takara's Microchange Toys (which later became part of Hasbro's Transformers line). Currently, Aramaki is directing Viper's Creed, a new anime TV series.

Kawaii Kon will be held from April 10-12 at the Hawaii Convention Center. Other guests at Kawaii Kon will include Laura Bailey, David Williams, and Monica Rial.
