Mori no Asagao Gets a Big Screen Adaptation

The latest issue of Manga Action magazine revealed that a movie adaptation of Mamora Goda's Mori no Asagao was approved for production. The film will be directed by Jiro Shono (Tegami, Beautiful Life).

The Mori no Asagao manga debuted in Manga Action back in May 2004, with its seven released volumes selling 250,000 copies. The manga was awarded the Grand Prize in the Manga Division of the 2007 Japan Media Arts Festival awards for his portrayal of modern Japan's capital punishment system.
