Viz Pictures announced that they will screen Death Note: L, change the WorLd in American theatres. the film will run through National CineMedia's Fathom system from April 29 to April 30. The April 29 show will present the film in its original Japanese with English subtitles, while April 30 show the dubbed version of the film. Shonen Jump newsletter subscribers will be able to order advance tickets beginnign March 20. Ticket sales will open to the general public starting on March 23.

Death Note: L is directed by Hideo Nakata (Ringu), and is based on the Death Note manga. Kenichi Matsuyama (Detroit Metal City, NANA) plays the lead role as L.
