Sunrise announced that they will produce an animated adaptation of Eto Mori's Colorful. The adaptation will be a feature film directed by Keiichi Hara (ESPer Mami, Kappa no Coo to Natsuyasumi). Currently, no further details have been announced, though the film is expected to hit Japanese theaters in 2010.

Colorful is not related to the ADV Films feature of the same name. Instead, it is a comedic tale of a suicidal 14-year-old boy who is granted immortality via a celestial lottery. The boy is placed into a new body every time he dies, which forces him to repeat the cycle of life and death in a manner similar to Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.
