Gonzo co-founder and former president Shouji Murahama revealed that he left the company Tuesday, and launched a new company the next day. At Lambda film, the new company, Murahama will serve as the representative director on the company's board of directors.

Murahama co-founded Gainax with director Mahiro Maeda (Blue Submarine No. 6, Final Fantasy Unlimited) and director Shinji Higuchi(Gunbuster, Wings of Honneamise) in 1992 after he left Gainax. During his tenure, Murahama served as producer or or executive producer for most of Gonzo's anime features. On Wednesday, Gonzo's parent company, GDH, absorbed Gonzo Digimation and took on the Gonzo name.
