Crunchyroll announced that they will offer episodes of the 2005 adaptation of Glass Mask. Currently, the first eight episodes are available on Crunchyroll's website, with episodes five through eight available only to Crunchyroll subscribers.

Glass Mask is an adaptation of Suzue Miuchi's manga of the same title, which revolves a thirteen-year-old waitress named Maya Kitajima. Maya's home life is far from enviable, as Maya's father passed away when Maya was young and Maya's mother truly believes that her daughter is useless. Maya's fate quickly changes when she is discovered by former actress Chigusa Tsukikage, who mentors Maya and guides her to the top of the acting world.

The Glass Mask manga is the second best-selling shoujo manga of all time, with over 50 million volumes sold in Japan. The manga began serialization in 1976, and is still running in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume. The series received three anime adaptations: a 23-episode TV series in 1984, a 3-episode OVA in 1998, and a 51-episode TV series in 2005.
