Otakorp announced that singer and cellist Kanon Wakeshima will make her US debut at Otakon 2009. Wakeshima brings a unique combination of sounds together with her music, combining baroque cello music with strong vocals and electronic arrangements. She gained attention in the gothic lolita subculture, and currently enlists Mana as a sound producer. In America, Wakeshima won 2009's Shojo Beat award for Best newcomer.

Wakeshima will perform on Saturday, July 18.
