The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA) announced that they are searching for a new CEO. Currently, SPJA Board Chairman Marc Perez is serving as interim CEO.

The SPJA has been without a CEO since March 27, when former CEO Trulee Karahashi was terminated. Karahashi served as the SPJA's CEO from August 2007 until her termination. Prior to her duties as CEO, Karahashi served as the SPJA's Chief Financial Officer. She was involved with the SPJA since 1996.

The SJPA Board of Directors held its most recent open meeting on March 18. The SPJA is the parent company of Anime Expo.
