Fox International is negotiating for the rights to produce a live-action adaptation of Paradise Kiss. If the negotiations pass, Fox will cooperate with Japan's IMJ to produce a film based on the property. The film will have a budget between $3 million and $4 million.

Paradise Kiss is based on Ai Yazawa's manga of the same title. The series sold a total of 34 million copies across five volumes. Six million of those sales occurred between 1999 and 2003, when Paradise Kiss was serialized in Zipper magazine. Currently, the manga is available in ten languages, including English.

Paradise Kiss received an anime adaptation in 2005. The series was animated by Madhouse and directed by Osamu Kobayashi. The series spanned 12 episodes, and ran on Animax from October 13, 2005 to December 29, 2005.

TOKYOPOP holds the American rights to the Paradise Kiss manga, while Geneon holds the rights to the Paradise Kiss anime series. Currently, both are currently available in western retailers.
