The first volume of Akira Hiramoto's Me and the Devil Blues (Ore to Akuma to Blues) was awarded the Glyph Comic Award for Best Reprint Publication. The Glyph Comic Award is an annual award given to recognize "the best in comics made by, for, and about people of color."

Last December, School Library Journal praised the first volume of Me and the Devil Blues. The publication called it one of the best adult books for high school students.

Del Rey currently holds the rights to Me and the Devil Blues. The series is translated and adapted by David Ury (Genshiken, Basilisk). Two volumes of Me and the Devil Blues are currently available in the west, each with a suggested retail price of $19.95.
