Wani Magazine announced that SABE, author of Grandchild to the World - Amami-, passed away on January 28th. He was 41. Wani Magazine withheld the public announcement until now to respect SABE's family's wishes.

SABE's death was finally announced now that publication of a memorial edition book is planned. More details will be revealed as they are set in stone.

SABE was previously married to mangaka Q-ta Minami. They had one child prior to their divorce. Minami confirmed in You Magazine's May issue that she had learned of her ex-husband's passing through her former mother-in-law.

SABE's work was published in Monthly Afternoon, robot, and Gelatin magazines. Gelatin's premiere issue shipped a week after SABE's passing.
