Keio Academy Hosts Industry Speakers

New York's Keio Academy announced that a number of guests will speak at the school's summer program on digital media creation. The following guests will lecture during the two-week program:

  • Shoji Kawamori (co-creator of Macross and Escaflowne)
  • Michael Arias (creator of Tekkonkinkreet)
  • Yuji Nunokawa (Studio Pierrot's founding CEO and animation director)
  • Roland Kelts (author of Japanimerica, columnist for The Daily Yomiuri)

The program will run form July 25 to August 8 at the campus. It is open to 40 Japanese students and 40 American students between the ages of 13 and 15.

The Keio Academy was founded in 1990 by Keio Gijuku (Keio Private School System) of Japan, which also operates Keio University. The Keio Academy was founded to meet the needs of Japanese students living overseas. Keio Academy is fully accredited by the New York Department of Education, as well as Japan's Ministry of Education.
