Translator Ryan Sands revealed that Last Gasp Publishing acquired the rights to Suehiro Maruo's manga, The Strange Tale of Panorama Island. Graphic designer Evan Hayden will handle production, design, and lettering for the title. Sands and Colin Turner will co-edit.

The Strange Tale of Panorama Island is based on a novella by Edogawa Rampo, and focuses on an unsuccessful science fiction author that pretends to be the late son of an industrial magnate. With his newfound riches, the author creates a fantastic island to satisfy his desires.

Maruo won the New Artist Prize at the 13th Annual Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prizes last April, despite being a professional manga-ka since 1980.
