The latest issue of Shueisha's You magazine announced that Kozueko Morimoto's Gokusen will return in the next two issues of the magazine. The original Gokusen manga ended in 2007 after seven years, and 15 collected volumes. According to You, Morimoto will revisit the series to commemorate the Gokusen movie, which opens on July 11.

Media Blasters currently holds the domestic rights to the Gokusen anime, and currently releases the series in a boxed-set.
