NANA on Hiatus Due To Creator Illness
The latest issue of Shueisha's Cookie magazine announced that Ai Yazawa's NANA will go on hiatus due to sudden illness. The issue did not run its scheduled installment of NANA because of the situation, and Yazawa expects to undergo several months of treatment before she fully recovers.
Cookie's editorial department printed an apology, as well as a notice that they do not know when Yazawa will be able to return. Once a date is known, the editors will notify readers via the magazine, as well as the magazine's homepage, among other avenues.
Viz Media currently holds the rights to the NANA manga, anime series, and live-action movies. The company will release volume 17 of the manga next month.
