Studio 4°C's First Squad Wins Award at Moscow Intl Film Fest

The Moscow International Film Festival announced that Yoshiharu Ashino and Studio 4°C's First Squad: The Moment of Truth was awarded the Kommersant newspaper's prize.

The film was created by Russian artists Misha Sprits and Aljosha Klimov, and directed by Yoshiharu Ashino (Armitage III, Tweeny Witches). The characters were designed by Hirofumi Nakata (Gantz, Batman: Gotham Knight), and produced by Eiko Tanaka Tekkonkinkreet, My Neighbor Totoro) in association with Klimov and Sprits. Currently, the film does not have a Japanese release date.

The Moscow International Film Festival is an annual event. It is Russia's most renowned film festival, and the second oldest film festival in the world. It was first held in Moscow in 1959. From its creation until 1995, it was held bi-annually to alternate with the Karlovy Vary festival. The festival was held annually since 1995.
