Viz Pictures announced that they acquired the North American rights to the live-action 20th Century Boys trilogy. Viz will release the first two films on DVD later this year, and the third in 2010.

Viz Cinema will show the first film from August 15-21, and the second from August 22-28. They will screen the third film as part of a simultaneous release with Japan on August 29.

The 20th Century Boys films are based on the manga by Naoki Urasawa. Viz Media holds the rights to the 20th Century Boys manga, and will release the fourth volume on August 18. 20th Century Boys is one of Japan's best-selling series, with over 20 million copies sold to date.
