Anime Weekend Atlanta announced that director Yasuhiro Imagawa will attend the event. Imagawa directed a number of unorthodox adaptations of popular giant robot series, including Giant Robo and Mobile Fighter G Gundam. In addition, he wrote the screenplay for the Pet Shop of Horrors anime series, and the story for the Seven of Seven manga.

Anime Weekend Atlanta will be held from September 18-20 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to Imagawa-san, the event will host animator Tsuyoshi Nonaka (D.I.C.E.), as well as musical acts Omodaka and Peelander-Z.
