Viz Media announced that Disney XD will air the Naruto Shippuden anime beginning next month. Viz launched the series in the US in February via online streaming sites like hulu, Joost, and Crunchyroll. The series performed beyond expectations, charting in the top ten streams on both hulu and Joost.

Naruto Shippuden is the direct sequel to the original Naruto anime series, which began airing on Cartoon Network in 2005. The series began airing in Japan on February 15, 2007, and currently spans 125 episodes.

Disney XD is a network owned by Disney, aimed primarily at 6 to 14 year old boys (kind of like that creepy old man on the street corner!). Neither party stated if the series would be edited for television broadcasat.
