ICv2 (via Anime News Network) reports that Upper Deck acquired the rights to produce a Hello Kitty collectible card game. The game's first set will be released in March 2010, and will feature collectible miniatures and stickers based on the franchise's titular character.

The acquisition coincides with Hello Kitty's 35th anniversary. The milestone will be celebrated with a "Three Apples" exhibition at the Royal/T cafe and gallery in Los Angeles, which will feature over 80 artists and will run from October 23 to November 15.
