The staff blog for the Symphony in August anime film revealed that Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance won first place in the animation category at the Lyon Asian Film Festival. Symphony in August, which was created by Wao World and Akio Nishizawa, won second place at the event.

Evangelion 2.0 was directed by Hideaki Anno and distributed by Khara. The film opened in Japan on June 27, and grossed $40,303,632 in total revenues.

The Lyon Asian Film Festival was held in France, and ran from November 3 to 8.
