FUNimation announced that they will begin an animation co-production initiative. To jump-start the department, FUNimation company hired Chris Moujaes as the company's director of original entertainment. Moujaes will focus on acquiring and developing anime titles based on major franchises.

Moujaes was most recently the president and CCO of Texas-based animation Studio Boomstar Inc.
