The Daily Sports newspaper has reported that a "sequel" to the 4-panel Crayon Shin-chan manga is in the works. The new strip will begin serialization next summer "in a new form." Late creator Yoshito Usui's family, assistants, and associates were consulted on this planned sequel.

Futabasha's Monthly Manga Town is currently publishing previously unseen installments of the Crayon Shin-chan manga. the chapters will run until the March issue, which ships on February 5th, 2010.
