Anime Boston Announces Second Wave of Guests

Anime Boston announced its second round of guests for this year's event. The following people will be attending the event:

  • Clarine Harp (RIN ~Daughters of Mnemosyne~, Trinity Blood)
  • Christopher Smith (Gurren Lagann)
  • Josh Grelle (Utawarerumono, The Wallflower)
  • J. Michael Tatum (Baccano!, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
  • Robert and Emily DeJesus

In addition, the Video Game Orchestra will return to perform at the event. Unlike last year's show, the group will consist of its entire 90-person ensemble.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood to Air on Adult Swim

The Los Angeles Weekly blog revealed that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood will begin airing on Adult Swim. The series premiere will hit the network on February 14, at midnight. Currently, 26 episodes are confirmed to air in the current timeslot. The blog also confirmed the voice cast for the series. The lineup is as follows:

  • Alphonse Elric: Maxey Whitehead
  • Winry Rockbell: Caitlin Glass
  • Roy Mustang: Travis Willingham

Navarre Reports Lower Sales, Increased Profits

Navarre Corporation, FUNimation's parent company, announced that they saw a decrease in sales for the last fiscal quarter. Navarre revealed that their publishing segment, which includes both FUNimation and Encore, saw net sales of $20.9 million in the period, a 15% decrease over last year. Navarre reported at least one third of the decrease to their closure of BCI video. Anime sales declined as "a result of a weaker release schedule compared to the prior year." The segment reported operating income of $2.9 million, a opposed to a loss of $30.9 million last year. During the conference call, Navarre's CEO Cary Deacon revealed that the company's digital distribution are seeing double-digit growth.
