NIS America Announces Anime Line

NIS America announced that they will begin translating and releasing anime in the US this year. The company revealed that their debut lineup will consist of the following titles:

  • Toradora!
  • Persona: Trinity Soul
  • Pandora Hearts
  • Our Home's Fox Deity

No release dates were revealed, nor was the release format announced.

Considering that NIS America's games are usually filled with glitches, typos, and text that runs off the screen, what are the chances of getting a premium-quality product out of their anime line?

Christopher Handley Sentenced

Christopher Handley was sentenced to six months of Prison on Thursday. Following his sentence, Handley will be required to serve three years of supervised release and five years of probation. Both supervised release and probation will run concurrently. In addition to his sentence, Handley agreed to forfeit all seized materials, which include the offending manga titles and his computer. During his supervised release, Handley will be required to participate in a treatment program that includes psychological testing and regular polygraph examinations.

Handley was arrested last year for the possession of "drawings of children being sexually abused." He pleaded guilty to the charges in May 2009.

The items retained include the seven books Handley ordered, which were seized by US Post Office officials in may 2006. The books seized are as follows:

  • Eromon by Makafusigi
  • Hina Meikyu (Doll Labyrinth) by Makafusigi
  • I <3 Doll by Makafusigi
  • Kemono for ESSENTIAL 3 (THE ANIMAL SEX ANTHOLOGY Vol.3) by Masato Tsukimori et al
  • Kono Man_ ga Sugoi! (This Man_ is Awesome!) by Makafusigi
  • Mikansei Seifuku Shojo (Unfinished School Girl) by Yuki Tamachi
  • Otonari Kazoku (Neighboring House Family) by Nekogen

The seizure was followed by a warranted search of Handley's home, which led to his arrest. A total of 80 books will be retained by officials.
