Iza News (via Anime News Network) reports that the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly's Government Affairs Committee made a unanimous decision to continue deliberations on the proposed "virtual porn" bill. The deliberations on the bill would delay any vote until June, when the next regular session of the Tokyo government begins. The committee planned to vote on the bill today. Had the bill cleared the committee, it would have been brought before the assembly on March 30.

Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara announced that "the debate should be deliberate and thorough" on the bill. A number of members of the Democratic Party of Japan, as well as a large number of manga creators and publishers that oppose the bill assert that the it would violate freedom of expression.
